Our spine tester operates using a drop weight (880 grams) setting on a pan that operates as a preload. We found this to be the most accurate way to measure the deflection and locate the spine. We have tested this with every shaft on the market and have done a comparison test with known shafts like a carbon express 350 and the results are perfect. We use a calibrated 1000g weight to ensure our weights are exactly 880g so claims to the contrary are false
