Helichrysum (Helichrysum Arenarium) is a grassy plant 20-40 cm high. The rhizome is branched, dark brown, ligneous. The stems are rising. Flowers are collected in dense corymbose inflorescences on the tops of stems. All flowers are tubular yellow or orange with a crest of soft hairs. Fruits are small oblong, brown achene. It blooms in June-August; the fruits ripen in August-September. Each basket blooms for about 10-15 days; the central inflorescence baskets are the first to bloom.
