Poetics & Progym II: Language Arts for Upper School Paperback – August 15, 2024

Poetics & Progym II is a composition, grammar, and rhetoric course structured around Virgil's Aeneid, Shakespeare's Macbeth, Plutarch's Lives, and the confirmation, refutation, common-place, encomium, invective, and comparison exercises of the progymnasmata. Composition lessons focus on advancing expository and persuasive writing. Grammar lessons are applied using selections from classic literature and poems, including challenging sentence diagramming lessons. Also includes studies in poetry, literary analysis, figures of speech, and figures of description. This is the second in a series of three books for 8th grade and up.
